Bentley Whitfield, CFM
Founder & Managing Director
Bentley Whitfield has over forty years of experience in the financial world and has been involved in more than $1 billion in financial transactions. He began his career with Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith in the 1980s. During this period Merrill Lynch was the largest of the Wall Street wire houses. He rose to the position of vice president and was recognized for his performance by being honored with winning the Executive’s Award, President’s Award and Wynn Smith Fellow’s Award. But perhaps his most coveted recognition was being appointed as an Early Success Strategy Team Leader. Later he would hold positions as an underwriter and ultimately portfolio manager at the New York Equity fund, a subsidiary of Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC) one of the nation’s leading social investment banking institutions where he successfully managed over $600 million in assets. In addition to his career in finance he has been a professor with the State University of New York (SUNY) since 2002. SUNY is the largest comprehensive public college system in the United States. He is a recipient of the prestigious Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching (One of SUNY’s highest awards). He has authored multiple essays and articles that have been published in multiple venues including online affiliates of ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC. He has participated on various boards and served as a senior advisor to three administrations of the National Conference of Black Mayors. He’s participated in many community activities including having served as an Auxiliary Police Officer for the New York City Police Department (NYPD). He is also the recipient of the 2015 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Leadership Award. Born and raised in Harlem NY, Bentley holds a certified financial management (CFM) degree from The Merrill Lynch School of Advanced Finance, Masters in Comparative Literature from Columbia University and a BA in English literature from Colgate University. He is a masters age athlete and actively competes in marathons and endurance races. Professor Whitfield is married and has a daughter and three sons. Two of his sons have competed as Junior Olympians in USA Track & Field.
A. Charles Morsby, MBA
Chief Economist
Formally trained in supply chain economics and management, A. Charles Morsby is also accomplished in business development. He has been part of successful supply chain and economics projects in the USA, China and Europe for Bridge Tech Capital Corp, TPS Enterprise, IBM and AT&T. Charles has travelled extensively and speaks English, Mandarin Chinese and Spanish. In addition to his economic expertise, he is also an experienced photographer, videographer and audiophile. He holds an MBA in Finance and Supply Chain Management Economics from Rutgers University and a BA in Economics from Carleton College.
